What is demonstrating?
Demonstrating is simply, conducting professional in-
store product demonstration programs on virtually
every type of product to give the consumer "hands-
on" time to increase excitement and sales. You may be in
a grocery store one day handing out samples of cheese,
demonstrating the latest digital camera the next day and
at a pet store handing out doggie treats the next. Some
companies may ask you to dress up as a costumed
character. There is a wide variety of products that you may be
dealing with. Many companies will specialize in one type of
product (ex- food, electronics, etc.)
Can I work full time?
Most demonstrating jobs are temporary, part-time positions. You may have a set schedule for a few weeks
or months, but I doubt you will find anything that would be full time. You will have a definite start and end time
for each assignment. Most demonstrations last 3-6 hours.
What else do I need to know?
You will most likely be required to wear some sort of uniform (ex: black slacks with white button up shirt).
You will be required to set up your table and required items needed for the display, as well as tear down at the end of the day.
You will be expected to be friendly and get customers excited about the products.
How much money can I make?
That is completely up to you. The more places you apply, the more opportunities you will have.
This type of work usually pays $6-$12 per hour.
